- About Us
- Meet the Team
Our highly qualified and friendly staff care for, respect and develop the individual personality of each child whilst providing a stimulating environment for children to realise their full potential, both socially and by learning through play.
All staff regularly undertake training including first aid and child protection training. Six members hold an NVQ3 Certificate in Childcare and Education , two a Level 2, one who is working towards a qualification and an Administration Manager.
We ensure that all staff at Playgroup are checked via enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service checks. References, copies of birth and marriage certificates and further personal identification must be provided before a position at the Playgroup is confirmed. Certificates of qualifications gained must be provided.
Each child will be allocated a key person before they start playgroup but this is subject to change. A child needs to bond with his/her key person independently and without knowing the child, it is hard to know which member of staff they will gravitate to. If a child “chooses” a different key person, parents and staff are informed immediately. Your key person will work closely with you and your child, to build a positive relationship that make him/her feel safe and secure in giving him/her confidence to participate and enjoy their time with us.

I love to read and will read all genres including sometimes the back of food packets. My main love is cooking , I cook or will try to cook recipes from around the world. My current favourite is Thai food using as many chillis as I can get away with.

I am married and a mum to two boys. I love spending time with my family whether it’s days out or just having lazy days at home. As a family we like to go camping, the kids love the adventure of being outdoors.
|Lorrie McKelvey – Senior Supervisor
As a creative person I have always had a keen interest in art, design, music and theatre. I am just as likely to be found in a gallery such as the Tate Modern as I am walking around the gardens of Nyman’s. Family is very important to me and large family gatherings are not unusual.
Michelle Jackson – Supervisor and SENCO
Like most mums I am always very busy with my two daughters. When we get some free time as a family we love to spend it exploring a National Trust location. I am a very creative person and my most recent projects have been cake decorating and sewing sock animals. My girls share this “making” passion with me so the glitter and glue is always out in our house.
|Sara Rose – Playgroup Assistant
